A committed and versatile freelance computer artist. I am Ba Animation Graduate with a sound understanding of digital design software that takes pride in all art work created. I am also very ambitious and have proved many times that I can adapt to any situation and flourish in situations above my “level”.

My name is Daniel Shirley, I am a designer from West London. I have over 7 years experience in the industry freelancing and working in house. Currently I work for a digital marketing agency called Echomany, I am a motion graphics artist for them. We run campaigns for major brands including, BBC, COCACOLA, Honda and more, and I create all the content for them. I really love my job, designing and computer arts are my passion, but I also love the fast paced deadline based environment; I think i work best under pressure because I can get into a singular mindset and really attack my task.

Over my years I have developed a high skill level in the main design software in the Adobe suite, but also Cinema 4d (which features in many of my animations) and tvpaint. I have a traditional art background; painting, sculpting, drawing, which can be seen in all my work. I take everything I do as art, which adds an extra hint of quality.

I graduated from Middlesex University in BA Animation. In these three years I studied and experiments with all areas and techniques of animation; from stop motion to cell to 3d. My favourite style is 2d drawn animation mixed with motion graphics. I learnt how to bring a project to a conclusion to deadlines and to a high standard; areas worked on was Storyboarding, character development, production bibles, editing and more.

After graduating university, after seeing my work and experience I was employed to be a lecturer at Huanghuai University, China. This was a big step for me, I finished university 3 months prior and then I went off to China to teach. This shows that I am more than ready to push the boundaries and extend my skills.

FREELANCE GRAPHIC DESIGNER

I have spent over 6 years working on commercial projects, often to put me through university. This shows that I can work out of my own initiative and find work, and if working for you to do better work. I have worked for clients such as Hectic, Albumlover and Passndrive.

Projects include animations, websites, music videos and business cards for these companies. I also created my own website www.adrastichyperlink.co.uk which

showcases all my work.

PRIVATE TUTOR

I have worked privately tutoring student with learning disabilities in animation, this was especially challenging because each student had specific needs and worked in a different way, So i have to be confident in my knowledge. I was able to improve their artistic skill as well as social skills

ANIMATION LECTURER - Huanghuai University September 2014 - June 2015

My last job was in China lecturing at Huanghuai university in animation and

illustration, teaching up to 40 students in their second and third year, that have very limited English at degree level.

I have to be even more confident in my skills and knowledge because of the communication barrier i have to work out the help they need and have to visual give descriptions. Also the technology is all in Chinese so I have to no software inside out. I am now trying to focus on the production side rather than teaching
