THE KITCHEN
my first thoughts for the film was to use the concept of a theatrical stage. By doing this i didnt have to focus on camera angles and i could use the 2d effect as a feature. most of the time in the film the camera is stationary and the charecters move through the kitchen. but some times the camera will change angle or zoom in, but the dimensions still stay the same, thanks to the 3d mode in after effects.
also i was going to keep the kitchen nice and clean like the charecters, but i felt it didnt give enough charecter, so when i hand dreww it i could really focus on making it look dirty.
THE BUILDING OF THE HOUSE AND TEXTURING
I used the same texture technique for the whole film, i got my sketh and then used blending modes to layer up different textures from photographs. and then layered colour over it. i also sometime drew on top further to add more shadow and highlights
